You Have to Step Into the Lucky Moments

There’s a version of luck we’re taught to believe in. The kind that just happens. The kind that falls into your lap while you’re minding your business.

But there’s another kind of luck. The kind that only shows up when you decide to step forward instead of staying still.

Most opportunities don’t look like miracles. They look like a small idea. A half-formed plan. A feeling that nudges you. A door that opens just a little. That’s the moment you choose whether to walk through.

When I lost my job, it didn’t feel lucky. It felt terrifying. There was grief. Shock. That hollow feeling of not knowing what comes next. But inside that uncertainty was a tiny opening. A moment where I could either rush to replace what I lost, or pause and ask myself what I actually wanted.

And for the first time in a long time, I chose me. I chose to bet on Good Things. Not because it was safe. Not because it was guaranteed. But because it was mine. If not now, when?

In some ways, it was one big dramatic leap. In other ways, it was a thousand small, quiet decisions. What to design. How to pivot. How to be more organized. Opening a second Etsy shop. Creating more designs. Showing up every day even when it felt scary. Learning. Tweaking. Trying again. Doing things differently than I had been doing for thirteen years.

Some days it was just me, my laptop, and a lot of coffee.
Some days it was orders rolling in that made my heart skip.
Some days it was doubt.
Some days it was pure joy.

And then something wild happened.

The sales grew.
And one day, I hit 1,000 sales.

Not overnight.
Not by accident.
But because I bet on myself.

Luck finds you when you say yes to the idea. When you take the shot. When you try the thing. When you show up again. When you stay curious. When you keep going.

It meets you halfway.

That’s how you make your own luck. 🍀
